I'm taking a moment to do a bit of an office clean up and get organized. I know that environment can either support or hinder learning efforts, so taking a moment to tackle that will definitely pay off in the long run.
Currently shifting the clinical supplies and creating more of a creative-centric space. I'm not going to talk about that so much, but apartment therapy and it's delightful visuals are definitely a stylish organizer's happy place.
With my trusty cup of tea and a clear desk, my task today is attending to my hardware and various tools of that nature. My baby, the Franken-puter, is my main relationship. I did, however, get gifted an HP Stream 11 (4gb ram, 1.60 ghz cpu). I had been using it for a very portable/lightweight D&D DMing tool, but it is PAINFULLY slow. So, I'm going to try to give it a new life so I can have some coffeeshop work time.
Cheapy laptop <!--side chick--> maintenance:
Do a little internal cleaning and heat sink compound refresh.
Get rid of bloat. Let's see if a lightweight Linux distro can help, I like Lubuntu with Puppy Linux coming in close second (depending on what I'm using it for).
Make sure my Wacom tablet works after. :D
If my supplies (other than my precious Franken-puter) are any indication, I'm a bit more of a punk techie, I'm all about tech on a budget. Also, anything that makes tech accessible, such as tinkering, mutual aid, free/open source, etc., I tend to lean in that direction with my own projects and such.
After this, time to jump back on my portfolio project and coding refreshers. Stay tuned.
